1. The Entraguard Gold Telephone Entry System

Following the March 2000 acquisition of Marlee Electronics, Keri is pleased to announce the introduction our first in-house telephone entry product design, the Entraguard Gold, a huge step forward for the industry in terms of economy, form, and function. With a 4 line LCD display, 750 tenant capacity (no paying per unit capacity), and the ability to integrate with the PXL-250 Tiger Controller for real access control + telephone entry, at $750 dealer price it provides great value. If you are using another telephone entry product, compare it with the Entraguard Gold for price versus performance.

Product Features:

  • Beautiful packaging with multi-color radiant LED keypad, no incandescent bulbs
  • Optional Alphanumeric keypad for fast scrolling
  • Stand-alone functionality or seamless integration with Keri’s access control system and Doors software
  • 4 line, 20 character per line soft white Supertwist LCD display, with up to three programmable scrolling messages
  • 750 unit capacity on all units, customer doesn’t pay for extra memory capacity
  • Up to 6 digit directory code, 7-15 digit phone numbers
  • Networkable to manage multiple doors
  • Handset, Flush Mount Kit, and Hooded Enclosure options

This new unit provides the best telephone entry/access control marriage available by letting the Entraguard function as a node on a PXL controller network and putting both functions under the Doors software umbrella. Each Entraguard Gold also has two extra relay outputs that can be used in a variety of ways, including turning on a lobby light, unlocking an interior door, etc., by tone commands from the tenant’s location or based on an access granted decision. An on-board modem is also included for remote programming.

The unique, stainless steel, multi-color radiant keypad with the AlphaNumeric option makes it easy for the visitor to locate tenants quickly. The unit is designed for durability and weather resistance with a tough 14 gauge steel enclosure and powder-coated paint finish. Additionally, the keypad has no mechanical or moving parts to wear out. Each unit can be fitted with an optional flush mount kit or hooded enclosure, as well as a hand set.

2. Cardholder Data File Import

The new Doors Cardholder File Import feature allows a systems integration expert to import selected and limited cardholder information from an external application into the Doors cardholder database. The most common application is importation from an existing personnel database so that names and other cardholder information do not have to be entered manually. This feature is an option within Doors and requires a license fee.

3. Event File Export

The new Doors Event File Export feature allows a systems integration expert to export information from Doors‘ internal databases into a text data file. This data file can then be read and used by an external application such as a Time and Attendance program or a database program. This is a stand-alone program that can be run by itself at any time (it does not interfere with the operation of Doors) or it can be run from within another application program (such as Time and Attendance) using command line options to specify the data fields to collect.

4. CSA/UL Approval

Keri has obtained UL508 approval through the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), which by law must be accepted as UL under National Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) reciprocal arrangements. UL508 covers control equipment, which will be sufficient for most cities’ UL requirement if they have one. The approval is for PXL-250 (both Proximity and Wiegand), the SB-293, and the LC-202 and LC-208 (both Proximity and Wiegand). Each of these products now has a sticker attached.

For those cities that absolutely require UL294, we are looking at seeking approval such approval for the upcoming PXL-500, but in most cases a general UL approval is fine – the inspector just wants to see a certification sticker on the product.
