Aperio is the smart technology that enables mechanical locks to be wirelessly linked to an existing access control system. The heart of Aperio is a short-distance, wireless communication protocol, designed to link with an online electronic access system with an Aperio enabled mechanical lock.

Each lock requires a hub for its wireless link, and a Mercury-Powered NXT controller can manage up to 16 Aperio locks.

Sargent v.S2 and other IP Enabled Locks

Doors.NET communicates directly with the v.S2 locks, and other IP-enabled locks, eliminating the need for a controller in locations where wireless or IP communication to the door is preferred. Using the building's wired or WiFi Ethernet infrastructure, the locks can be added to locations where it would be difficult or cost-prohibitive to have a traditional lock, and provides standard access control features in online and offline operation. The v.S2 integrates all components into one device - ANSI Grade 1 quality lock or exit device, card reader, door position switch and Request-to-Exit sensor - and is available in mortise lock, bored lock and exit device.
